Types of plastering
Drylining – this is whereby plasterboard is attached to existing walls or ceilings. It creates a smooth surface ready for decorating.
Skimming – using a thin layer of plaster, normally 2mm-3mm thick, we skin the existing flat surface or plasterboard. This will provide a smooth, seamless finish ready for decoration.
Ceilings – we can skim over existing Artex ceilings. However, we can also install a new plasterboard ceiling ready for painting.
Two-coat plastering – this process involves a backing plaster and top coating applied to a solid surface.
Float and Set – this is a traditional 2-coat system used for plastering on blockwork or brickwork. It is otherwise known as wet plastering. It involves a wet undercoat plaster which is later skimmed ready for decorating. Above all. it offers a much greater sound density than boards and is an excellent insulator.
Cornice and Coving – we can supply and fit your choice of coving and cornice to finish the look.
Repairs – where small areas of damage exist we may be able to carry out repairs to avoid having to replaster the entire wall or ceiling.
Screeding – this is a thin layer of specialist concrete, poured over a concrete floor base or even over underfloor heating to create a smooth, level surface on which to lay your chosen floor finish. Screeding is suitable for domestic properties, as well as commercial and even industrial premises.
Above all, we can help turn your vision into a reality, book a free site survey to find out what we can do for you.
